WHAT IS DPP?
The Denver Preschool Program (DPP) is the result of a voter-approved initiative to provide tuition credits for parents and quality improvement grants to preschools. Preschool providers who participate in a quality-rating system through DPP can receive quality-improvement grants of up to $3,000 per classroom that can be used for materials and supplies, professional development and coaching. Through its partnership with Qualistar Early Learning, DPP offers a pathway for providers to improve the quality of their programs, thus expanding capacity and driving demand for more high-quality preschool classrooms.

ELIGIBILITY
To enroll in DPP, you need to be licensed by the state and agree to participate in a three-part quality improvement system that includes:

  • Introduction to Quality orientation
  • Quality rating
  • Development of a quality improvement plan

BENEFITS FOR PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
Participating in the DPP program gives you eligibility to receive technical assistance and funding to help implement your quality improvement plan. DPP providers also gain awareness and exposure for their preschool through various marketing opportunities such as a listing on the DPP website and signage that identifies them as a quality preschool provider. Such exposure allows providers to attract more students and increase profitability.
