APPLICATION
Applying for DPP tuition credits -- What to do and what to expect:
Remember that to qualify for DPP you must live in the City and County of Denver and your child must be in the last year of preschool before being eligible for kindergarten. Tuition credits are awarded based on a sliding scale that factors in family income and family size.
Submit your application to DPP, along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residence in the City and County of Denver.
You may also complete a self-employment affidavit, or if you choose not to provide income information, you will receive the minimal tuition credit.
Within two weeks, you will hear from DPP whether you have been approved for the program. You will also be informed about the amount of tuition credit you will receive for your child to attend the preschool provider of your choice.
If you are eligible for other funding sources for preschool, DPP will notify you.
At the same time you receive your letter, your preschool will also receive a letter indicating that your child has been approved for DPP, as well the amount of your tuition credit.
If your child is in or qualifies for programs such as Head Start, Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP), and Colorado Preschool and Kindergarten Program (CPKP), DPP will coordinate with these programs to determine the DPP tuition credit for which you qualify.
