"In three short years, the Denver Preschool Program grew to become the third-most subscribed preschool program in the nation, with over 65 percent of Denver preschoolers attending school at the age of 4. In its fifth year of operation, DPP is now reaching over 70 percent of all Denver 4-year-olds." Said James Mejia in his commentary in the Denver Post.
James went on to discuss the importance of kindergarten preparedness and a child's increased chances for achievement on grade level throughout their academic career when they attend preschool. He also highlighted the collaboration between businesspeople, education specialists and community leaders that have helped to transform the early childhood education systems in Denver, thanks to the Denver Preschool Program.
